The Lord’s
Day
April 25,
2010
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
(Psalm 147:5)
Prelude
Apostolic Greeting
*Call to Worship Psalm 103:1–6
Bless the Lord,
O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord,
O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
The Lord
performs righteous deeds
And judgments for all who are oppressed.

Public Confession
Heavenly
Father, we ask that You would forgive us for speaking wrongly of others and for
repeating things we heard. Forgive us for holding unkind thoughts instead of
seeking to build up those who are part of our family. And please forgive us for
those times we neglected Your Word while depending on our own wisdom.
Words of Assurance Colossians 3:12, 13
As
those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one
another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just
as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

*Declaring
Our Faith[†] The Catechism of the Church in Geneva
In
addition to the Word itself, how does God communicate Himself to us?
God
communicates Himself to us through the preaching of His Word and through the
sacraments.
What is a sacrament?
A sacrament is an outward attestation of the
divine benevolence towards us, which, by a visible sign, figures spiritual
grace, to seal the promises of God on our hearts, and thereby better confirm
their truth to us.
Pastoral Prayer
*Responsive
Reading Psalm 67
God be gracious to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us.
That Your way may be known on the earth,
Your salvation among all nations.
Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy;
For You will judge the peoples with uprightness and guide the nations on
the earth.
Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.
God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.
